breakfast at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas in honor of Ted
Turner.<span>  </span>Mr. Turner was this year’s
recipient of BRIT's International Award of Excellence in Conservation. He
currently owns approximately 2 million acres of personal and ranch land, and is
the second largest individual landholder in North America. Turner lands are
innovatively managed and work to partner economic viability with ecological

computer science team and science team have advanced to the UIL state finals.  
Members of the computer science team include: Dominic Yurk, Matthew Roberts, 
Luke Wilson and Alex Hulen.  Going home with a gold medal for top score on the 
written portion of the competition was Dominic Yurk. Matthew Roberts and Alex 
Hulen tied for second and each received a silver medal.  The winning science 
team members include Dominic Yurk, Alex Hulen, Charles Jang, and William Lyles.  
Dominic also went home with individual gold medals for top scores in biology, 
chemistry and was the overall individual science champion. Charles Jang and 
Dominic Yurk also received silver medals for their second place finishes in 
biology and physics, respectively.  In addition to the teams, two individuals 
qualified for the UIL state competition in separate events.  Amy Nguyen garnered 
a bronze medal in spelling and vocabulary and Dominic Yurk got a bronze medal 
for his third place finish in mathematics.  Good Luck to all at state!

Amazingly, Paschal teams finished FIRST and THIRD in the advanced programming division.   The team of Matt Roberts, Luke Willson, and Dominic Yurk won first place, and the team of Alex Hulen, Amy
