August 13, 2010 Dear Faculty, Parents, Students and Paschal High School Family: As you have probably heard by now, the Fort Worth ISD administration is involved in an ongoing, rigorous investigation of allegations regarding Arlington Heights High School. Because this investigation is not yet complete, I ask you to withhold judgment in this matter until all the facts are in. However, I also know that the students of Paschal High School (PHS) must have a campus leader in place in whom they can have the utmost trust now — not later. For that reason, I have named Ms. Terri Mossige the new principal of PHS. Ms. Mossige is an amazing and accomplished educational leader with many years experience both as a high school teacher and a campus administrator. She holds a B.S. degree from Texas Wesleyan University, a Master of Education degree from Texas Christian University and is a current doctoral candidate in TCU's Educational Leadership program. Additionally, she has studied at Harvard University's National Institute of Urban School Leaders, and has been instrumental in developing FWISD's new Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences, an early college high school for students interested in the medical field. Since 1996, Ms. Mossige has served as teacher, assistant principal and principal at several Fort Worth ISD campuses, including Meacham Middle School, Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School. Wedgwood 6th Grade Center, Leonard Middle School and Stripling Middle School. While at Stripling, she developed a strong partnership with TCU, bringing in mentors and tutors for her students. Under Terri's leadership, Stripling transitioned from an Academically Unacceptable to a Recognized campus. She also has had experience as a private school teacher. Because of her extraordinary record, Ms. Mossige was most recently named principal of the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences. Ms. Mossige's experience, wisdom and energy are a great fit for Paschal High School. Her leadership style is very similar to that of Dr. Sharon Meng; she is collaborative and has expectations of excellence from all students. Dr. Meng will be working closely with Ms. Mossige to ensure a successful transition. Ms. Mossige is very excited about this new assignment and looks forward to working with each of you in the years ahead. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, Chief of Schools Robert Ray or Ms. Mossige. Thank you for your support and understanding. With every good wish, Melody Johnson, Ph.D. Superintendent |
