Adopt A School

A note from Maggie Wilson, Adopt-A-School Coordinator

Paschal High School and our Adopt-A-School partner, City of Fort Worth Botanic Garden (Larinda Smith), joined forces on Saturday, April 2, for the Great American CleanUp.  Thanks to the efforts of about 60 student volunteers, the PHS campus was polished and shined to reflect the spirit of this oldest high school in the city of Fort Worth.  Approximately 60 bags of trash were collected and another bag of plastic and cans was sent for recycling.  PTA lent its support by providing water and sodas for the volunteers.  The weather cooperated this year, too, which contributed to the great turn out.  Thank you to Maggie Wilson, the Paschal Adopt a School Coordinator who does so much for the students and Paschal.

Thank you, Mother Nature!  The bad weather held off just long enough on Saturday, October 23, for the 72 volunteers to get our Paschal HS campus looking beautiful.  This was the Cleanup that had to be rescheduled from September 25th due to lightning, so we were grateful for a break in the weather.  It rained before our cleanup and it certainly rained after, but we had a clear window and were able to take advantage of it.

The kids were great, working side-by-side across the campus, picking up trash and having fun.  When it was all over, we got back together in the JROTC hall and went through 34 pizzas (thank you, Adopt-A-School Partner, Botanic Garden and Larinda Smith), 6 cases of sodas and 4 cases of water (thank you, Paschal PTA!)  The kids were tired, but proud of themselves.   We hope to send you action photos soon for the Paschal PTA website.

I want to send a special Thank you! to the adult volunteers who showed up to help us: Deborah English, Mr. Sparrow, and from JROTC, LTC Terry LeBoeuf, CSM Gregory Burden, 1SG Ronald Moore, and SGT1 Alton Holley.  Thank you, everyone.  It was a great day!

About Us

We sponsor two campus cleanups and a Career Day during the year. Service clubs, JROTC, and volunteer students meet at the Panther Lair and we clean up all litter and debris from our campus. For Career Day, exhibitors come to PHS and share information about their company or profession. This activity is offered to C.A.T.E. students only.
