The Hispanic Debutante Association of Fort Worth established in 1985 is celebrating the 28th year in existence!! The organization primarily focuses on helping students earn scholarship money for college. o It is a year long program in which students will be asked to attend one meeting a month as well as a couple of fundraisers per year. (Students can continue to participate in the program after their first year of debut. o Students can remain active in the association for years and continue to get financial assistance beyond Bachelor's degrees. o Guest speakers share information about college applications, financial aid, etc. o There is a focus on promoting cultural awareness. o The highlight is the Annual Debutante Ball in which the students and their parents are formally presented (a formal event, etiquette, appropriate attire, etc. great lessons). o Students network with community leaders is encouraged.
Application and requirements can be obtained in the counseling center or download here. Teachers have also been sent the information as well. Please help identify students that may qualify and be interested in the program. |
